Churchill Downs Incorporated (CDI), a major gaming operator in New Hampshire, has finished the formalities of its acquisition of Chasers Poker Room in Salem. Earlier, the New Hampshire Lottery Commission had provided its nod for the transaction.
Chasers already operates a gaming facility near downtown Boston, and it is going to renovate the acquired facility. Once the proposed expansion worth approximately $150 million is complete, the Poker Room in Salem will have 800 gaming positions including historical racing machines and table games.
Bill Carstanjen, Chief Executive Officer of CDI, said: “We are excited to build upon the success of Chasers with CDI’s proven excellence in historical horse racing operations and a state-of-the-art new facility. It is a privilege to have the opportunity to meaningfully support nonprofits in New Hampshire as the leading gaming operator in charitable contributions.”
