Esports & iGaming entrepreneur’s latest venture aims to ‘beat the boredom of betting for Gen Z’

An esports & iGaming entrepreneur has launched a new product that promises to offer “true engagement” for Gen Z punters.

Tom Lemke, who founded two of Germany’s biggest esports teams in Mousesports and BIG, has unveiled his latest project to solve an increasingly acute problem for the igaming industry.

SavageTech is described as the world’s first true gamification layer solution for online gambling platforms and promises to increase loyalty and boost gross gaming revenue for operators.

Lemke, who was previously European General Manager for Unikrn before its acquisition by Entain in 2021, said: “Gen Y and Z customers are proving an elusive demographic for the gambling industry to onboard and retain. Basically, they find gambling boring and research shows that 85% churn on their second deposit.

“Even the best-designed sportsbooks look like coloured spreadsheets to these generations. These players are gamers – 80% of them game for at least one hour a day. They crave instant gratification and entertainment – they want to play games.”

Plug-and-play product depth

This, Lemke says, is where SavageTech comes in. By gamifying the gambling experience, adding integrated bonus rewards, quest-based cross-sale opportunities and community building with social leaderboards, SavageTech is a plug-and-play solution that adds instant product depth. In short, SavageTech “puts World of Warcraft on top of a sportsbook”, Lemke says.

A light but powerful widget that seamlessly plugs into existing platform solutions, SavageTech requires just one line of code.

Users are able to create their own avatar, battle baddies and win loot and can progress through the game by wagering real-money on the integrated platform.

Lemke said: “SavageTech lets existing platforms engage players using the same techniques as mobile games and social casinos. It’s a simple solution to instantly add gamification, meaning players grow attached to platforms and become loyal customers.

“It also allows platforms to transform gambling into a multiplayer experience, where players become a part of a fun and thriving community. Not only can they compete and engage with each other, they build bonds that enable next-level product loyalty.”
